Hi, Good evening…I’m no programmer but I do enjoy messing about with Linux, and (FULL DISCLOSURE) will use Claude AI to help me debug a set up or to smooth setting one up. There is no point in wasting time in reinventing the wheel. What do I self host? My first self host was Vaultwarden, and it worked pretty well. I then tried Zoneminder to keep an eye on my elderly mothers house, from around 400 miles away. Other servers include Nextcloud and Sickgear which are must haves IMHO and Plex (Less so). I’ve also played with mealie (recipe) & bar-man (DRINKS!) After that I moved to the fediverse, which I found incredibly difficult to start with…But a bit of patience and now I have a mastodon, synapse & lemmy server working & federated

I am no expert, but I don’t think the app makes a huge difference to the upload, but the config is very important…and as for the cloud, I think you can, but I have absolutely no idea how you would do it
